Oris Aquis Date Social Club Edition II: Global Community Diver With Frosted Dial and Winking Bear Date

Oris debuts the Social Club Edition II based on the 43.5mm Aquis Date Relief, featuring a frosted silver fingerprint dial, winking Oris Bear date window, and olive green NATO strap.

When Oris first launched its Social Club initiative in 2019, it was a modest grassroots effort—a handful of local meetups bringing enthusiasts together over drinks and mechanical watches. Fast forward to Geneva Watch Days 2026, and that local gathering has expanded into an international network spanning 62 official chapters across the globe. To mark this milestone, the Hölstein-based manufacture has unveiled the Oris Aquis Date Social Club Edition II, a timepiece designed specifically to celebrate its worldwide community rather than a single municipality.

Standing in the press hall handling the watch, the immediately noticeable departure from standard Aquis fare is the tactical, tool-watch demeanor. While the core Architecture borrows heavily from the beloved Aquis Date Relief, the execution here feels decidedly more casual and community-minded, anchored by a tactile, heavily textured dial and a retro fabric strap.

The multi-piece stainless steel case measures 43.5mm in diameter with a thickness of 13.1mm and a lug-to-lug span of 51mm. Despite the substantial specs on paper, the ergonomic short lugs sweep sharply downward, allowing the case to sit remarkably flat on a standard 6.5-inch wrist. Surrounding the sapphire crystal is Oris’s signature Relief bezel—a solid stainless steel insert with raised, polished numerals and dive markers against a granular, media-blasted background. It offers a rugged, mono-material aesthetic reminiscent of industrial tool watches.

The focal point of the Oris Aquis Date Social Club Edition II is its frosted white-silver dial. Oris crafted this delicate, uneven graining as a visual metaphor for a human fingerprint, representing the unique identity of every community member across the 62 global chapters. The frosted surface catches ambient light in unpredictable ways, shifting from cold matte ice to silvery luminescence depending on the angle.

Applied nickeled indices and bold alpha hands are generously treated with Super-LumiNova for low-light legibility. However, the most charming detail resides quietly at 6 o’clock inside the date window. On the first day of every month, the standard date numeral is replaced by a winking silhouette of the official Oris Bear mascot—a playful horological easter egg reserved for those who wear the piece monthly.

Flipping the case over reveals a solid stainless steel caseback secured by screws, maintaining the watch’s professional 300-meter (30 bar) water resistance rating. Rather than an open display back, the steel surface is deeply stamped with a detailed silhouette of the historic Oris manufacture in Hölstein, flanked by special engravings reading “OSC | INT” to commemorate the international Social Club community.

Inside runs the reliable Oris Calibre 733, built on the proven Sellita SW200-1 automatic architecture. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) with 26 jewels, it provides a 41-hour power reserve alongside central hours, minutes, hacking sweep seconds, and instantaneous date correction. It is a robust, easily serviceable workhorse entirely fitting for a daily-wear community edition.

In another notable shift, the Social Club Edition II comes fitted on a heavy-duty olive green NATO fabric strap with custom stainless steel hardware. Marking the first time in over a decade that Oris has factory-fitted an Aquis Date on a NATO strap, the earthy green textile pairs seamlessly with the matte frosted dial and relief steel bezel, transforming a classic diver into a versatile daily field companion.
