At 41 mm wide and 11.9 mm thick, it sits neatly on the wrist, and the 30 m water resistance is the standard hint that this is a dress-adjacent piece, not an athlete.

What makes the Digitale feel current is not the mechanics; it is the styling. Collectors who have watched the independent sector heat up over the past five years will recognise the visual cues, and the brand has leaned into them. The jump-hour mechanism itself is a treat for the mechanically minded. Jumping-hours watches are not intrinsically rare in the modern landscape, but combining the jumping display with a precision moon phase and a five-day reserve at this level of decoration is something else again. De Bethune has always been a brand that hides its cleverness behind beauty, and the Digitale is a perfect example.

It takes a twenty-year-old movement, dresses it in the maison’s most recognisable decoration, and prices it CHF 106,000 before taxes. Compared with time-only watches from newer independents at around CHF 80,000, the Digitale offers a great deal more mechanism for the money, and the market seems ready to notice.
